Guyanese among 4 to be deported for assaulting immigration officer in Barbados

Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch on Friday ordered that four women – three Colombians and a Guyanese – be handed over to immigration for deportation.

The order was made after Colombians 31-year-old Leidy Yurani Rodas Lemos, 19-year-old Johanna Martinez Palacios, 21-year-old Carolina Estupinan and 23-year-old Guyanese Handisa Amanda Adam’s pleaded guilty to assaulting immigration officer Carlisle Murray on November 13 in the execution of his duties.

All four women who were jointly charged were convicted, reprimanded and discharged for the offence.

They were represented by Queens Counsel Michael Lashley and Dayna Taylor Lavine.
