Haiti receives 2nd shipment of medical supplies to combat COVID-19

The Minister of Public Health and Population , Dr Marie Gréta Roy Clément accompanied by the Director General of the MSPP, Dr Lauré Adrien received, Monday May 11, 2020 at Toussaint Louverture International Airport , a second shipment of equipment and equipment ordered by the Haitian government to combat the spread of COVID-19

This second shipment contains 75,500 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), 25,000 medical overcoats, 500 beds and 150,000 N95 masks, 5,000 plastic coats and 500 full beds. These materials will be distributed progressively to medical personnel throughout the national territory.

Dr. Marie Greta Roy Clément, gave the guarantee that these materials will be immediately sent to health facilities intended to provide care to patients infected with the new coronavirus. She recalls that this cargo is part of the five 463 tonnes of medical supplies ordered in China which must strengthen the treatment facilities for patients of COVID-19 in Haiti.

The co-chair of the COVID-19 multisectoral pandemic management commission, Dr Lauré Adrien, reacted on the quality of the materials ordered. He says he has faith in the company that made them.

More than $ 18 million has been disbursed by the government for the order of 463 tonnes of equipment, which should arrive gradually over the next two weeks
