IMF says it is reviewing data provided by Venezuela

The International Monetary Fund says it is currently reviewing delayed economic data provided by Venezuela.

IMF spokesman Gerry Rice told reporters Thursday that the executive board will determine whether the South American country has met its obligation to share periodic information.

He said: “At this stage, we are reviewing data that we have received from Venezuelan authorities.”

The IMF issued a declaration of censure against Venezuela in May for its failure to implement remedial economic measures and provide required information. At the time, it gave Caracas six months to respond with updated figures.

  1. IMF is strictly designed to destabilize smaller countries with resources that they wants to control, the organization is very cruel to poor countries. I never believed in IMF, over 4decades I have seeing that organization has done a lots of hardships on poor countries. They are not there to help the poor to come out of problems, they are causing more destruction to the country more than anything. It is really sad the way the IMF is designed to messed up poor countries, it is hard to believed it.But it is true, what they are doing over the years.
