The sentencing for popular entertainer Ninja Man was delayed as a result of a handcuff shortage facing police officers who were to escort the artiste along with other accused/prisoners to the courtroom today.
When his case was called before the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston, an attorney disclosed the situation in the courtroom.
Ninja Man, whose given name is Desmond Ballentine, was later brought to the courtroom but the attorney representing his co-accused Dennis Clayton was late for court, which led to Justice Martin Gayle postponing the matter until Monday.
This is in addition to one of the character witnesses, who Ballentine’s attorney Valerie Neita- Robertson had intended to call up, having to leave the court for another appointment.
Ninja Man was on November 20 found guilty of the 2009 murder of Ricardo “Ricky Trooper” Johnson.
His son Jahneil was also found guilty.
