JAMAICA – OPM hits out at spliced Holness video

The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) is condemning a spliced video now circulating on social media from Wednesday’s OPM Live Youth Forum which shows an interaction between Prime Minister Andrew Holness and a member of the audience.

In a statement Friday afternoon, Press Secretary Naomi Francis said the video is a clear attempt to mislead Jamaicans and is an intentional attempt to bring the Office of the Prime Minister and Holness into disrepute.

Francis says the video was doctored in a manner that does not reflect the tone and essence of the conversation and debate that took place.

She says the Prime Minister has always been respectful of all views and maintains that he welcomes discussion on all issues, including the National Identification System.

Francis says well-thinking Jamaicans should get the facts for themselves and not be misled.
