Jamaican facing possible deportation from Barbados

The Barbados Immigration Department has been tasked with deciding whether a 27-year-old man returns to his homeland Jamaica or remain in Barbados.

Magistrate Douglas Frederick handed Alex Emanuel Golding, who lived at Watkins Alley, Suttle Street, St Michael, over to immigration officials “for their consideration.”

Golding had pleaded guilty back in August to unlawfully inflicting serious bodily harm on Kevin Thompson on August 28.

He had been on remand at Dodds prison since then after he was ordered to compensate Thompson.

However, when he returned to court on Friday he still was unable to pay and was handed over to Immigration after he was convicted, reprimanded and discharged for the offence.
