LIAT Shareholders to Meet in Barbados Tomorrow

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, May 21 2015 – The shareholder governments of LIAT will meet here on Friday in a bid to increase the airline’s shareholder base.

In addition to the existing shareholder governments – Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines – invitations have also been sent to the governments of St. Kitts-Nevis and St. Lucia to attend the one-day meeting.

Chairman of the LIAT shareholders, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris has accepted the invitation, but Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony has not yet indicated whether he will be available for the meeting.

  1. Methinks there is an air of desperation about the Comrade Chairman’s behaviour now as regards LIAT. Could it be that LIAT is finally coming to the end of its financial ropes and life-lines?

Jeez, I certainly hope so. Ralphie won’t listen to anyone else – and if LIAT continues down this path, with or without “Doctor Dolittle” Evans, it’s curtains for the airline.

Do YOU have the money to keep it flying, Ralphie? Better pull your own pocket, too, because when you finally hit the polls – as you must – your electorate will not be pleased to find out they are suddenly paying a “LIAT Tax” on top of all the rest.
