LIAT workers in Antigua to receive Christmas payment

Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne says LIAT workers will have some Christmas cheer to look forward to this year.

During his 2024 Budget Speech on Friday, Browne announced that Cabinet recently agreed, just like last year, to make an ex-gratia payment (perhaps it could be called a bonus) to the current workers of LIAT, of a few hundred thousand dollars so they could have a good Christmas.

The prime minister during the budget presentation said that in 2024, the Antigua and Barbuda government will spend an estimated EC$30 million to “ensure LIAT 2020 Ltd has all the aircraft needed and appropriate maintenance and operational arrangements are in place for the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of service to the people of the region.
