Man jailed for exposing his genitals to children

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Jun 10 2017 – The Trinidad and Tobago police said a 54-year-old man who exposed two young children to child pornography while engaging in sexual activity, has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.

In a statement, the police said that Clifford Llewellyn, a mechanic, had exposed the children, ages eight and 10 to child pornography and was arrested after the parents of the two children reported him to the La Horquetta Police Station, on June 28, 2015.

The police said his name and photo will now be entered into the Sex Offenders Register, after he was sentenced by Magistrate Gillian Scotland in the Arima Court, east of here earlier this week.

LLewellyn was found guilty on the charges of exposing a child to pornography and engaging in a sexual activity in the presence of a child.

On the first offence, he was sentenced to six months for the first offence and 18 months for the second offence. However, he will only serve 18 months as the sentences are to run concurrently.

In handing down the sentence, the magistrate lamented the psychological impact such incidents have on the life of a child and the prevalence of abuse against children in the country, said the police.
