Missing Dominica Fishermen Found off the Coast of Venezuela

ROSEAU, Dominica, Aug 06 2015 – Dominican authorities Thursday confirmed that three men missing at sea since Saturday had been found off the coast of Venezuela.

Police public relations officer, Claude Weekes, said that the men, Yanick Bruno, 26, Jerome Telemacque, 18 and Nixon Edwards, believed to be in his 20’s, “were found way outside Venezuela and hopefully they should be on island …this afternoon”.

He said the men had been rescued by an unidentified cargo ship and “according to reports they seem to be in good health, they were very hungry.

“That’s the most we have but it is factual that the three men have been found,” the senior police officer said.

The men had left here on the 25 ft. open fiber glass boat serial number J705 3SGE and powered by a 150 mercury Optimax outboard engine, to purchase fishing equipment on the French island of Guadeloupe.

Relatives said that while the men had life jackets, cells phones and water however, they were not certain about having sufficient food.
