PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Mar 30 2016 – Police are hunting for an “armed and dangerous” murder accused who was among six people who made an early morning break from the St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital.
Sheldon Henry, also known as Sheldon Thomas, was among the group who made their way out of the Forensic Ward by cutting through the burglar proofing and later exiting through the Nursing Station of the hospital, between midnight Monday night and 1:50 am yesterday.
A press release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said the other five escapees are back in custody, including one who was returned to the institution by relatives.
Henry, 31, had been referred to the St Ann’s Hospital on March 7 for observation, based on an order issued by a High Court judge.
He had previously been on remand at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca, since being charged with murder of Anthony Lemessy on August 19, 2004.
Apart from the murder charge, Henry, faces 14 other charges including possession of firearm, possession of ammunition, robbery with violence, robbery with aggravation, wounding with intent and possession of cocaine.
