Magnitude 4.3 quake rocks sections of DR

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, Aug 03 2017 – An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 was felt across southern and central parts of the Dominican Republic on Wednesday Evening.

The Seismological Institute of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) says the tremor was located 12 kilometres north of San José de Ocoa at a depth of 10 kilometres.

According to a report from the Civil Defense, the tremor was felt in the Greater Santo Domingo and surrounding areas

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
