OECS to Host Mini-Festival on Climate Change in Antigua

CASTRIES, St. Lucia, Sep 03 2015 – The OECS Commission will host a three day “Climate Fest” here beginning this Sunday.

The event will be opened to the public during which time students and other can see various display pieces, informational spreads, educational posters and banners on climate change, environmental management and conservation.

Throughout the three days, a special delegation from the OECS Commission will host all visitors and students to the exhibition, where visitors can expect to learn about the impacts of climate change that are already being felt in OECS islands for example on coastlines, on water resources and on the major industries of tourism and agriculture.

The exhibition will also provide information on coping strategies for climate change; and tips on how to minimize impacts on our lives, health, livelihoods and property.

“Climate Fest’ is an awareness building exercise under the OECS-USAID Project (known as the RRACC Project).

The RRACC Project is funded by USAID to the tune of US$ 9.5 million.
