Off the Air: Trinidad Broadcaster said he was Threatened

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Dec. 11, 2014, CNS – A television programme on the Islamic Broadcasting Network (IBN) was last evening pulled from the station's programming line-up because of claims by the show's host, Inshan Ishmael – who is also the station owner – that he had received death threats and threats about the destruction of his facility.

Other businesses operated by Ishmael, also a political activist, were destroyed by fire last year.

Ishmael's Wednesday evening programme, Breaking Barriers, was a controversial show that focused on allegations of corruption and poor governance by the current administration.

He had previously been sympathetic to the government but had recently become extremely critical of it.
