Panama deports Africans attempting to enter USA

Panama’s immigration authorities reported that they deported 13 Africans this weekend, mostly from Cameroon.

Authorities said they made false statements to enter Panama.

According to immigration authorities, the travellers indicated upon entry that they were “participating in a religious congress.” Instead, their true destination was the United States.

Authorities added that the travellers were assisted by organized crime networks involved in human trafficking. They were all detected trying to board public transportation to the border with Costa Rica at the Albrook Terminal.
