Pimp charged with more human trafficking offences in Antigua

Cheryl Thompson has been arrested and changed with additional human trafficking offences, police said.

Thompson, of Paradise View, faces five counts of human trafficking, five counts of debt bondage,  and five counts of using the services of trafficking persons.

These offences allegedly occurred between November 2017 and February 2018.

She is expected to appear in the St John’s Magistrate court  to answer these charges.

In June police arrested and charged Thompson on five counts of debt bondage in relation to human T=trafficking and five counts of human trafficking.

The charges were laid on Friday, June 2.

Police said the offence occurred in St Johns in December 2017, January 2018 and February 2018.

In February this year, Thompson, who is the owner and proprietor of Jam Dung Night Club, was charged with four counts of human trafficking.

Those charges were laid after a joint operation was conducted on two separate establishments, which included Jam Dung Night Club.

Thompson, among others were arrested and taken into custody and questioned in connection with allegations of Human Trafficking.

Several Jamaican women, who were deemed to be potential victims of human trafficking were also questioned and released pending further investigations.

Thompson appeared before the court and was granted bail in the sum of $20,000.
