Senior airport manager in Guyana on sexual assault charges

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Andre Kellman, was on Friday granted GUY$70,000 after being charged with the sexual assault of a worker at the airport.

Kellman was charged with touching an airport employee in a sexual way by kissing her on the mouth without her consent on July 30th last year during the in-camera proceedings at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

The unidentified woman had filed a complaint against the 56 year-old senior airport official to other managers at the airport but it was only recently that the Police became involved in the investigation.

Kellman, who has more than two decades service with the CJIA,  will return to court next week. He has denied the charge.
