Police were searching for unknown gunmen who shot and killed three men on Monday night in Arouca, along the east-west corridor amid speculation that the killings may have been connected to the murder of three men last week.
Police said that Dwight Richardson, 28, also known as “50” and 29-year-old Salim Dominique, died at the scene, while 36-year-old Saleem Dominique, died while undergoing surgery at the Arima District Hospital.
They said a fourth man, Nigel Scott, 22, is listed in critical condition after being shot several times.
The police said that the four men were at a nightclub when the incident occurred.
Residents of the area say they are traumatised by the event, since it followed last Tuesday’s killings of Anderson Forbes, 27, Anderson James, 32, and Ronald “Tek” McKie, bringing to six, the number of people shot and killed in the Arouca area in six days.
The two men were killed as they attended a wake for McKie, who was shot earlier.
So far this year, more than 330 people have been murdered in Trinidad.
