Trinidad jolted by 5.3 magnitude earthquake

Trinidad and Tobago was jolted by an earthquake overnight.

The seismic Research Centre at the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies said the quake, with a magnitude of 5.3, occurred 24 minutes after midnight (local time).

The earthquake was located a Latitude: 10.11N, Longitude: 61.98W at a depth of 10 km.

Hundreds of people have said on social media that they felt the quake in communities across the country including in San Fernando, Port of Spain and Arima.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
