Reports of the alleged kidnapping of two teenaged boys late Wednesday are being investigated by the police.
The police report that shortly after 8 p.m. (local time) the boys, aged 14 and 16, went for a walk with their uncle, Kumar Lutchman, 38 in the community of Sangre Grande.
Later in the evening, Kumar’s mother, Phoolmatie Lutchman said she received a call from her son who said he was kidnapped, along with his nephews.
The police say Kumar was released early Thursday and on reaching home told his family that a ransom of TT$350,000 was being demanded for the safe return of the boys.
