Veteran Grenadian Broadcaster and Owner of Grenada Broadcast news and current affairs online service, George Grant has died.
Grant passed away overnight as a result of a heart attack.
Grant served the media fraternity in Grenada for many years and was well known for his popular Sunday’s with George Grant program, which was broadcast on his online platform grenadabroadcast.com.
Tributes have started to pour in for Grant, including the following from Grenadian freelance journalist Kellon Bubb:
“It was only last Sunday that I spent part of my morning with George Grant on his “Sundays with George Grant” radio show. We had a great conversation leading up to our on-air interview with your guest.
As always, our discourse was robust and spirited with respect to the state of media and other socioeconomic issues affecting Grenada in the era of COVID 19.
George was a giant in his own right; a cut above the rest, and a bastion of professional integrity and ethical discipline. I am truly saddened and heartbroken at this time.
Your death is such a great loss for Grenadians at home and in the diaspora who have been clamoring for some modicum of quality and professionalism in broadcast media.
May you rest in eternal peace, my friend.”
