ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Jan 07 2016 – A 15-year-old girl who was allegedly set on fire by a close relative has been flown to Paris for treatment.

Shaveesa Gasper, who in 2015 won a pageant and was crowned Miss Teen Xplosion, suffered second and third degree burns to about 60 to 80 percent of her body.

Local media reports said she was doused with a flammable substance and set alight at her New Winthorpes home on New Year’s Day.

She had been placed in an induced coma and flown out of Antigua to Martinique but was later transported Paris.
