Caribbean Airlines says one of its aircraft has been taken out of service following an emergency evacuation on Tuesday.
Caribbean Airlines says flight BW 1526 was evacuated at the Piarco International Airport, Trinidad.
The flight was operated by one of the airlines’ ATR-72 aircraft.
The reason for the evacuation is still being ascertained, Caribbean Airlines said in a statement, adding that the flight crew followed the standard operating procedures, and in accordance with the relevant drill, all passengers and crew were safely evacuated and escorted to the Domestic waiting area.
Emergency services attended to and cleared the aircraft which has been withdrawn from service and the relevant inspections are currently taking place, Caribbean Airlines said.
