Dr. Denzil Douglas’ US Visa Cancelled

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, March 12 2015, CNS – A diplomatic United States visa issued to former St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas would be cancelled in line with “normal administrative processes” of the American Embassy.

Responding to a query from CNS, the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown said it: “does not comment on individual visa cases.  When high-ranking members of governments no longer hold offices that entitle them to diplomatic visas, any diplomatic visas they once held are cancelled as normal administrative practice.”

Douglas told CNS on Tuesday that a document being circulated under a report titled “US Government revoked Visa of Former St. Kitts-Nevis Prime Minister” is fabricated and bogus‎.

“It’s not a document that is and ever was in my possession,” Douglas told CNS.

He was referring to a graphic of a head photograph of him with a United States visa bearing a stamp marked, “revoked”, which is being circulated online.

“This is a continuation of the attempts to tarnish my image‎ and legacy of nearly 20 years of catapulting St. Kitts and Nevis to leading developmental positions in the Caribbean region,” Douglas said.
