The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) today completed certifying Region Four votes, effectively bringing the national recount tabulation exercise to a close.
The APNU+AFC scored 116,941 votes, with the PPP/C next with 80,920.
This brings the official total national score of the incumbent Coalition to 217,920 and the opposition party to 233,336. This puts the PPP at 15,416 votes in front of the Coalition, meaning the PPP/C, headed by Irfaan Ali has effectively won the 2020 Regional and General Elections.
All contesting parties for Region Four signed off the certification, with the exception of APNU+AFC despite them having representatives there, and OVP, which only contested the regional component of the elections.
Organization of American States (OAS) Observers were present for the signing.
