ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, Sept. 25, 2014 – The police have charged 68-year-old Millicent Cornwall-Roberts with murder, in connection with the beating death of her granddaughter, Jael Thomas of Mack Pond, All Saints.
Thomas, 18, died Monday following an alleged beaten by Roberts.
Cornwall-Roberts was taken into custody immediately after Thomas was found dead.
Just after midnight on Sunday, residents reportedly heard loud screams from the home, which Thomas shared with her grandmother.
Thomas, a former student of All Saints Secondary School, had been living with her grandmother from birth.
Her mother was also a resident in the home, but she later moved out leaving the young girl behind.
