GRENADA-DEATH-Young Grenadian Legislator Dies Suddenly

ST. GEORGE‘S, Grenada, Nov 07, 2014, CNS – Grenada has been plunged into mourning following the sudden death of government legislator Senator Jester Emmons.

Emmons, 45, the Parliamentary Secretary for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, died in hospital on Thursday night.

A government statement quoted Prime Minister Keith Mitchell and his deputy, Elvin Nimrod, who is also the Minister responsible for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, as expressing “our deepest sympathies” to the family of the late legislator.

The cause of death was not given, but it is understood that he fell ill last week and transported to a hospital on the mainland.

The former school teacher is survived by his wife and children.
