ST JOHN’S, Antigua, May 03 2016 – Jamaican dancehall artiste has been freed after being arrested in Antigua and Barbuda Tuesday morning following his performance during Labour Day celebration.

Sources say the artiste was released after paying an undisclosed fine for resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. They also say the deejay was not officially charged.

The artiste was represented by Micheal Archibold, Lawrence Daniels and Jermaine Rhudd.

The conflict began earlier Tuesday morning when a number of supporters climbed onto the stage during Popcaan’s performance and a police officer began removing them.

However, while the police were carrying out their duty, “Popcaan” got in the way of an officer, barring him from carrying out his duty.

A number of patrons resorted to throwing missiles, causing injuries to bystanders.
