LIAT Investigating Incident Involving Staff

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Sep 23 2015 – The regional airline, LIAT, says it has launched an investigation into an incident in which one of its employees is reported to have assaulted a visitor in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) last weekend.

LIAT said that the alleged incident took place at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport in Tortola late on Friday September 18 and that the employee “in question has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation”.

BVI police information officer Diane Drayton confirmed that the “police did receive a report on 18 September of an altercation between an employee of the airline and a customer. No arrests have been made in the matter”.

LIAT said that it “is committed to clearly, openly, and completely establish all of the facts surrounding the incident and to a fair resolution of the matter”.
