LOS ANGELES – Gabrielle Union reveals struggle to have children in new book

Actress Gabrielle Union is opening up about her struggle to expand her family with basketballer husband Dwyane Wade.

The couple wed in April 2014 and has had eight or nine miscarriages.

The 44-year-old revealed her struggle in her forthcoming book, We’re Going to Need More Wine.

She said for three years, her body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant; either about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.

Union is stepmom to Wade’s kids Xavier, 3, Zion, 10, and Zaire, 15.

The Being Mary Jane star said in dealing with the public pressure to conceive, a lot of women deny wanting kids because it is a lot easier than being honest about whatever is actually going on.

By sharing her story in We’re Going to Need More Wine, which is out October 17, Union hopes that the way people approach her about the topic changes.
