JAMAICA – 1,000 pounds of ganja seized, four Costa Ricans among 11 people arrested

Eleven people including four Costa Ricans have been arrested and approximately 1,000 pounds of ganja and two motor cars seized in Sweet River district, Westmoreland.

The Westmoreland police report that about 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, a makeshift shed was discovered in bushes by cops on an operation in the community.

They say several men and a woman were found compressing and packaging ganja there.

The ganja and two motor cars were seized and the group of handlers arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

The ganja has an estimated street value of $4 million.

The identities of the 11 persons are being withheld pending further investigations.
