MONTSERRAT-ARTS-Desmond Brown’s Runaway Groom Heads To The Emerald Isle

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, Oct. 23, 2014, CNS – Runaway Groom, a play written by Desmond Brown, is heading to Montserrat this weekend.

This will be the first of many expected staging of the play overseas following its successful run at the Antigua Recreation Ground in September, when an estimated 10,000 people turned up for the annual dramatic production of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda Drama Group.

The buzz created by those who saw the play resulted in several requests being received for it to be staged in other countries, including Barbados and Dominica.

A request was also received from the hierarchy of the Montserrat Police Force and arrangements were made for Runaway Groom to be staged at the Montserrat Cultural Centre on Saturday Oct. 25.

Runaway Groom tackles the serious issue of risky online relationships. The play tells the story of a middle class couple and the challenges they faced as they prepared for their wedding. It’s being directed by Darren Mc Almont, himself playwright who has built up an impressive resume in theatre arts.

Playwright Desmond Brown is an award winning journalist and communications specialist.
