Operations Resume at Providenciales Airport Following Hurricane Joaquin

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands, Oct 03 2015 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority announces the resumption of flight operations at Providenciales following the passage of Hurricane Joaquin.

The category 4 storm also struck the Bahamas affecting air travel and cruise lines in the area.

American Airlines canceled its one scheduled departure from Exuma International Airport and one out of two departures from Providenciales International Airport in the Turks and Caicos.

Lynden Pindling Airport in Nassau was also closed and was expected to open Saturday morning.

The Providenciales Airport Authority regrets any inconvenience caused and passengers are asked to contact their respective airline for flight scheduling.
