MIAMI, Feb 14 2017 – Reggae singer Anthony Cruz is now in mourning following the murder of his teenage daughter and her mother.
According to a report from nbcmiami.com the bodies were discovered in a house in Sunrise, Florida after hours of police standoff ended with a man in custody yesterday.
It is reported that dozens of officers and a SWAT team responded at a complex in the 7700 block of Balboa Street after they received a call that shots were fired at around 11 a.m.
Police negotiated with the man who surrendered after a standoff lasting about five hours.
He has since been identified as 32-year-old Kevin Nelson.
Police later discovered the bodies of Cruz’s child’s mother and his 15-year-old
daughter Shanice Smith.
“She didn’t really deserve this. Neither one of them,” Smith’s grandfather was
quoted as saying.
