An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred south east of St. Vincent on Tuesday, the Trinidad-based Seismic Research Unity (SRC) of the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) has reported.
It said that the quake, which occurred 00.56 a.m. (local time) was located at Latitude: 12.35N; Longitude: 60.48W and was at a depth of 10 km.
The SRC said that the quake was also felt 122 km south east of Kingstown, 128 km south west of Bridgetown, Barbados and 133 km, north, north east of Scarborough in Tobago.
The SRC said there were no reports of damage, injuries or death as a result of the quake.
Last Friday, two earthquakes, including one with a magnitude of 4.4, rattled several Caribbean islands with the SRC reporting that the first quake occurred south west of Dominica and the other south west of St. George’s in Grenada and north west of Port of Spain in Trinidad.
