US Embassy issues travel advisory for Barbados

The Embassy of the United States in Bridgetown issued a travel advisory for citizens travelling to Barbados.

The advisory level remains as normal but included particular areas to avoid or exercise caution when traversing.

The release stated:

If you decide to travel to Barbados – Do not travel to the following areas:

▪ Crab Hill, St Lucy

▪ Ivy, St Michael

▪ Nelson Street, Bridgetown (at night)

▪ Wellington Street, Bridgetown (at night)

▪ Jolly Roger and Buccaneer Cruises (at night)

▪ Maxwell Coast Road (at night)

Exercise increased caution in the following areas:

▪ Black Rock

▪ Deacons

▪ Carrington Village

▪ Green Fields

▪ New Orleans

▪ Pine

  1. Nothing wrong with the advisory…………It’s just to heighten the awareness of their Citizens to adverse circumstances that could possibly arise

  2. You give no clarity to your Travel advisory, I travel often to Barbados and have very comfortable visits.
    Thank god I was Born Canadian, maybe we have little fears. This being the reason I and many friends enjoy Barbados. There is danger in everyone’s back door, this is not a reason to intimidate a travel advisory.

  3. Evidently Greg you are missing the point. The areas mentioned are high crime/drug areas. All the advisory is asking for visitors to be vigilant when traveling through those areas.

  4. Why don’t the us government give a bad review on they self. With all the crime they have people just knocking you off just for looking at them.they have to live scared everyday tho
