Venezuelan Leader to Visit Antigua

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Oct 14 2015, CNS – President Nicolas Maduro is due to pay an official visit to Antigua on Friday.

An advisory from the Government said Maduro will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Gaston Browne and will also visit the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre where he will speak at a brief ceremony for the Venezuelan Eye Care Programme.

Maduro is expected to head to St. Lucia on Saturday where he will meet with Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony “to discuss ongoing and future areas of cooperation”.

In recent, weeks, Maduro has been visiting several Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries, including Dominica that had been battered by Tropical Storm Erika late August.

Earlier this month, Maduro postponed at the last minute a visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
