WATCH: Jamaican woman alleges she’s dying of hunger in quarantine. MP says she’s playing politics

A Jamaican woman, living at Seven Miles in Bull Bay, St Andrew, has been appealing for welfare assistance, alleging she and her children are dying of hunger.

The woman said since last Friday, movement has been restricted in the community, declared a quarantine area, as the government puts restrictions in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.

But Member of Parliament for the area Juliet Holness has expressed disgust at the video, noting that the woman, who she knows personally, is playing politics.

The Member of Parliament said it saddens her that people are using something as destructive as COVID-19 to give a story that is not true.
